The Ramblings and Ruminations of a Vanderbilt Undergraduate from Franklin, TN

wtf?

So I checked the little map thing down at the bottom of the page and it said I've had 12 visitors from Durham, N.C. read the blog. As far as I can tell this means one of two things:

1.I'm huge in Durham

b. My friend that goes to Duke scampers around campus all day checking my blog on various computers.

Also,
Vandy got back on track yesterday against Western Kentucky, as they topped the 'Toppers 5-1 in Nashville. Nick Christiani (3-1) threw 6 innings giving up 5 hits and walking out 3 while striking out 6. It looks like Nick's been reading the blog as he's been stellar in his last two starts only giving up 1 combined run after I got on to him in my last post. Dominic de la Osa also continued his hot streak as he went 3-5 with an RBI. De la Osa tripled and stole home in the 5th inning to give the 'Dores a 3-1 advantage. Sophomore Drew Hayes (from Mckenzie, TN) picked up his second save this season as he pitched a scoreless 8th and 9th frame for Vandy.

The good times kept rolling tonight as Austin Peay came to Hawkins Field for a midweek match up between Vanderbilt starter Chase Reid (2-0) and APSU's Jeff Lykins. Flash went 3-5 with 2 RBI to lead the 'Dores offensively as they cruised to an 8-1 victory over the 'Govs.

So, after a poor showing in Oxford, the 'Dores travel back to the Magnolia State this weekend to take on the Bulldogs of Mississippi State. I've inched back from DEFCON 1, but barely. I like what I've seen from the starting pitchers as well as the relievers this week, but I'm holding out until Sunday night to see if Corbin has gotten everything hunky-dory in the bullpen.

Right now would be a fantastic time for this team to get red hot and start steamrolling people like last season. Now that's what we all really want to see.

Yeah, it's like 2 AM, so what.

Go 'Dores!

Dude, Durham is the most active city in the United States for your blog. Even better than Nashville. That's solidarity. All I'm going to say about that.

Love
