Wow, how unexcited am I about the NCAA tournament right now? I'm just disgusted with the effort I've seen from the team in their last 5 games. If in fact it is true that you're only as good as your last game, we're one and done. Now, I don't mean to be the stereotypical Gloom and Doom Vandy fan, but honestly, unless you enjoy sub-par basketball and general lack of enthusiasm, this team hasn't been giving us much to cheer for lately.
Speaking of enthusiasm, I think I can count Vanderbilt's rebounding total against Arkansas on one hand. For crying out loud, I think a team of 12-year-old girls could have out rebounded us this afternoon. In my estimation, rebounding is a direct reflection of desire, and a glance at the stat sheet shows that we didn't want this game very much. 43-20. That's a difference of 23 rebounds. Arkansas out rebounded us by over 100%. I don't even feel the need to discuss any other sort of statistics, because the obscene rebounding disparity is what decided this game.
Also, thanks to my roommate for pulling me back from the edge. His enthusiasm is the perfect complement to my incessant negativity. Let's get pumped for an NCAA run.
