The Vanderbilt Baseball team will continue their home schedule with 5 games this week. On March 25 & 26 the Commodores will host Belmont & MTSU with each game beginning at 6:00pm. March 25 (that would be today) is also Hawaiian T-shirt day, and the first 50 people through the gates will be receive a coupon for a free hot dog and a coke. I was pulling for roasted suckling pig, fresh cut pineapple, and poi, but apparently my opinion doesn't carry much weight. Starting on Friday, March 28 and going through Sunday, March 30 the Commodores will resume SEC play as they host Arkansas. This series is crucial for the 'Dores as they dropped their first series since the 2005-2006 season this past weekend in Tuscaloosa. Game times for the weekend are 6:00pm, 3:00pm, and 1:00pm.
Also, the 4th seeded Lady 'Dores cruised to a victory over 5th seeded West Virginia last night to the tune of 64-46. Christina Wirth lead all scorers with 21, and former Hillsboro standout Jessica Mooney chipped in 11, as the Lady 'Dores move on to the Sweet 16 to face either Maryland or Nebraska on Saturday. More on that game as it becomes available.
Expect an update tomorrow concerning the state of my bracket, my picks for the rest of the tournament (so that you can be sure to pick against me, which seems to nearly guarantee success) , and other random Vandy sports news.
As Always,
Go 'Dores!
